Five years in the making Berlin-based Sludge/Noise stalwarts are unleashing their new album “New World Hoarder”: Six new tracks pushing the boundaries of heavieness and urgency. While its predecessor “Under The Manchineel” was a bristly beast of dark and thunderous swill pounding monstrous riffs and bleak lyrics mostly into the area underneath your chest, the new effort cuts higher, right at the heart and brain, although no less heavy. The five past years left an impression on all of us and artistic reflection certainly can’t deny that. TREEDEON have been following their path rigorously with playing remarkable shows but now come out as a much more political and sonically more demanding act. The sonically deep urgency is still there but gets charged with challenging melodies and a much more ‘no boundaries’ approach. Lyrics become more prominent even though the content of their music always played a significant part in their expression. After drummer Andy joined the band right before the release of the last album TREEDEON found themselves in a situation while feeling utterly comfortable still paving a common ground and allowing influences from all three members to take shape and shine. The past years did allow for this for them being a challenging period for every band but also giving space and serenity for trying things and a natural growth. And here we are, right on the brink of a new chapter, which bass player and vocalist Yvonne describes in her own words:

The Alternative music scene in the Nineties vibrantly questioned traditional listening approaches and came up with some of the most interesting concepts in that sense. While it was bands like MELVINS, UNSANE, SWANS or COP SHOOT COP on the other side of the pond, on this side one of the bands was EISENVATER and the guitar-based orchestra ROSSBURGER REPORT that evolved from it. EISENVATERs live shows remain legendary transcending gatherings which among lovers of the extremes have a cult status and are of the kind that everybody claims to have been there. Exile On Mainstream is thrilled to welcome back Markus E. Lipka, the driving force behind EISENVATER with a new band that is KARLA KVLT. Together with his son Johann on drums and his daughter-in-law, Teresa (both also in MELTING PALMS), the trio delivers a raw and monolithic album that is unique in style and approach.

Abyss is the second album by the duo MIGHT, from Hanover, founded in January 2020. Ana Muhi (vocals, bass, piano) and Sven Missullis (vocals, guitar, drums) mix elements from various musical genres in their very own way and sound intoxicating organic. Between instrumental frenzy and gentle, fragile acoustic parts, an exchange takes place that musically brings together different genres: black metal, sludge, doom, post rock, shoegaze. The whole thing happens without any showmanship: Loud and quiet in perfect complement, the power of love as an answer to life’s questions. As large as the steps may seem at times, they always remain comprehensible. The common thread consists of the consistent and honest handwriting of the two – an uncompromising couple.
